The U.S. Space & Rocket Center was the brainchild of Dr. Werner von Braun who was appointed by U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower to oversee NASA in 1960. Based in Huntsville, Alabama, Dr. von Braun led the team that landed men on the moon with Apollo 11 on July 16, 1969. |
